On Monday, we will celebrate "Dot Day" which is the 15th anniversary of the picture book, The Dot. We will read the book, discuss its themes of bravery, creativity and self expression. Then we will create our own dots and view dots created by many celebrities online.
This week we will also celebrate Constitution Day with several activities from Scholastic News as well as other sources. We will also talk about what good readers do, and practice those skills with some close reading activities.
In writing workshop, we will do a few quick writes and then begin our personal narratives. We will spend the next few weeks writing these personal narratives, taking them through the writing process.
Plurals will be the focus this week and next in word study, We will learn how to apply rules for making nouns plural.
Spanish - each Thursday and continue through November 14th, the end of the 1st trimester.
