We are learning about inferences in text for the next few weeks. Inferences are ideas based on clues in the text. We'll also compare that to explicit information which is information that is right there on the page, spelled out.
In Writing Workshop, a few students are still finishing their summaries of Capture the Flag. Most of the students are writing their informational text pieces about the Native American tribes they chose in Social Studies class. They will work on this in class, and have been given a checklist to assist them as they work. Some students have already finished those, they are researching and create a presentation on a scientist mentioned in our read aloud book. They can then teach the class about that scientist using their presentation.
In Word Study, we will begin prefixes - dis-, ex-, il-, im-, in-, and it-. Click here for a copy of the list. The test will be on Friday, November 7th.
