Reading Homework: Reading logs are due each Monday
Writing Workshop: Students are preparing a ten minute lesson as part of our EdCamp. We've had three Ed Camps so far, and the students have done an amazing job. It's been so fun seeing them teach and learn from each other. Our next Ed Camp will be Wednesday and then our last one will be next Tuesday. This is a chance for students to choose and prepare something they are interested in and something that they think others might be interested in, as well. This is totally a choice topic project, although I have said no Minecraft. :) They will have 10 minutes to teach, and they will teach the same lesson two times in a row for two different small groups of students. Students not teaching that day will choose 4 sessions to attend and participate in. Everyone will get a turn to teach. If your child is teaching this Wednesday, they should practice at home.
Writing homework: Students are to write 10 minutes in their Writer's Notebooks on the topic of their choice. These are due each Wednesday.
Word Study: Prepositional Phrases - We'll start to memorize a list of prepositions, understand their purpose and then write sentences using prepositional phrases. We didn't have time for this last week with our preparations for Ed Camp, our field trip and Multicultural Day.
