In Math, we will be finishing up Topic 18 (Equations) and will have a test on Tuesday. Then we will move on to Topic 9 (Lines, Angles and Shapes).
In Science, we are working hard on our landform reports. The landform project guidelines are attached to last week's post. Students will complete a project at home (3D model, poster, trifold brochure, etc....) and write a report at school. Students will present their landforms beginning Wednesday, May 15th. We chose presentation dates last Friday so that students can practice their presentations in advance.
In Reading, we are still reading Ungifted by Gordon Korman. Some of the end of the year DRA Assessments are complete and we will continue to work on those this week. We spent a lot of time last week finishing up our Poetry Collections which turned out great! This week we will learn about and write our own Tall Tales.
Our exciting news this week is that the entire fourth grade will Skype with the author of our read aloud from back in the fall, Daniel at the Siege of Boston, Laurie Calkhoven on Wednesday afternoon. The wonderful Wyandot PTO has paid for this fun opportunity. We will be brainstorming questions to ask her and will learn how she came to write such an interesting piece of historical fiction.
Our specials this week are:
