Reading Homework: Reading logs are due each Monday
Writing Workshop: We started our first narratives and will revise and edit our stories as we learn more about creating believable characters, writing good beginnings, adding dialogue, showing not telling, and creating well developed settings. Narratives are our writing focus until mid-March.
Writing homework: Students are to write 10 minutes in their Writer's Notebooks on the topic of their choice. These are due each Wednesday.
Word Study: Unit 11 on homophones. Click here for a copy of the list. Our test will be this Friday, February 13th.
Friday, February 13th - Valentine Exchange - Students can make a box or decorate a bag at home, but it is not required. If students would like to give out Valentine's, please make sure they have one for everyone. A list of first names was sent home a few weeks ago. Let me know if you need this list again. There are 25 students total. We'll have a small snack, too.
