We'll also finish our last read aloud, Lawn Boy, by Gary Paulsen. It's a great book about a boy who needs some money and starts mowing lawns to earn it. The business takes off and he learns a lot about economics.
We will also talk a lot about summer reading plans and start to create those. Research shows that kids should read at least 5-6 books to avoid the summer reading slide. The Dublin Library Summer Reading Program starts Saturday, May 31st.
Our class party is this Wednesday from 2:15-3:15. We'll walk out back to the pavilion and enjoy a snack. Then we'll play a game of kickball. Thanks to our room moms for coordinating this!
Next Monday on our last day of school, Mrs. Chapman will have a beach theme going on in her room, and I will have a camping theme. We will switch classes halfway through the day, and we have many fun activities planned. Students should bring beach towels. Please let us know if your child will not be at school that day.
