All April long we will read, write and enjoy poetry. We'll learn about similes, metaphors, personification, onomatopoeia, alliteration, and other figures of speech. We'll also explore lots of different types of poetry including haikus, cinquains, diamantes, slam poetry, etc....
In word study we will focus on compound words this week. If students like, they may go to www.spellingcity.com to play spelling games.
In math, we'll finish up Topic 17 (Data and Graphs) with an assessment on Wednesday, and begin Topic 13 (More Decimals). We are moving quickly in math so that we can cover all of the material for fourth grade. Thank you for your understanding and support.
